Bryan Chen, M.D.
Dr. Bryan Chen was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts but primarily grew up in the Bay Area of California. He is a second-generation Chinese-American and has familiarity with Mandarin-Chinese and Spanish. He has two siblings and is one of two physicians in his family.
Dr. Chen did his undergraduate training at the University of California, Berkeley with majors in Molecular & Cell Biology (Neurobiology) and English literature. He received his doctorate in medicine in 2001 from the University of California, San Diego. His internship in pediatrics was at the University of California, Davis, followed by a clinical research fellowship in dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. He returned to the University of California, San Diego for his residency training in dermatology in 2003. He completed his residency training and became board-certified in dermatology in 2006.
He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and Secretary-Treasurer-Elect of the San Diego Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
His areas of interest and specialized training include Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers and reconstruction, dermatopathology, laser surgery, medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss disorders and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Chen is married and is an active member of the Christian community. His hobbies include golf, running, tennis and piano.

Carlos earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with emphasis on Pre-medicine from Barry University (Miami, Florida) in 2002. The Houston, Texas native attended Barry University on a scholastic scholarship. He was named outstanding Biology Major and was placed on the Dean's List and President's List of Academic Honors. Carlos was nominated as a winner of both the National Collegiate Medical Professions Award and National Collegiate Natural Sciences Award.
He is a member of Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the chemistry honor society, as well as Alpha Mu Gamma, the foreign language honor society. Following graduation, Carlos volunteered as a paramedic in Houston, Texas and traveled with medical professionals to meet the healthcare needs of underprivileged people in Guatemala and Honduras. He returned to Miami to attend graduate school where he obtained his degree of Master of Clinical Medical Science from the Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences Physician Assistant Program in 2005. During his graduate studies, Carlos received the Dr. Drew Feinerman Memorial Scholarship for his demonstrated leadership capability and commitment to community service.
He is currently certified nationally and licensed as a Physician Assistant and paramedic.
What is a Physician Assistant?
A Physician Assistant (PA) is a highly trained medical practitioner licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. They conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat a wide variety of illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions. The above are all performed according to Dr. Rullan's protocols. Carlos has been working with Dr. Rullan since April of 2006.
