Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid which is safe and effective for use in all skin types. These mild, limited depth peels do not require neutralization and because of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, create minimal discomfort for the patient. A salicylic acid peel is a light superficial chemical peel that only affects the outermost layers of the skin.

A salicylic acid peel works to improve several skin conditions, such as:

  • Acne
  • Blackheads
  • Clogged pores
  • Congested (oily) skin
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma

Salicylic acid does not make your skin peel, however a mild flaking could happen on sensitive skin, which could would last 1-2 days. A Salicylic Acid Peel is a progressive treatment that will not provide a final result with one peel. A Salicylic Acid Peel can be performed every 2-4 weeks depending on the condition of your skin.

Salicylic acid may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn. We recommend using zinc oxide sunblock SPF 30-50.

The day of the treatment all other skin care products should not be used (until the next day).
