What is Silikon 1000?

Originally developed as a retinal treatment, Silikon 1000 is a medical-grade pure form of injectable liquid silicone. Unlike conventional dermal fillers which degrade over time, the results from Silikon 1000 are permanent, meaning there is no need for maintenance touch-ups once your course of treatment is completed.

Silikon 1000 helps patients to restore lost volume, filling in wrinkles and fine lines while plumping and smoothing skin. The nature of this solution also stimulates the body’s production of collagen allowing for further skin rejuvenation.

Many doctors are wary of using Silikon 1000 off label as a filler. However, the Dr. Rullans are one of only a handful of physicians in the country, if not in the world, who have used this filler successfully for many, many years. Dr. Peter Rullan has been using this for over 20 years and his Dr. Jennifer Rullan for over 10 years.

It is injected with a different technique called “micro droplets” so that the body forms a reaction surrounding thr droplet. It is injected in a slow progressive technique because it is permanent to avoid over filling. This is also recommended for patients who degrade HA fillers too quickly or who need too much Ha fillers. it is also i GP redoble for atrophic acne scars.

How does Silikon 1000 work?

Due to the permanent nature of Silikon™1000, we exercise great caution throughout the process. To achieve natural-looking results, we use a method known as the microdroplet technique where we inject tiny amounts of the solution over several weeks.

By gradually making injections, we can ensure the outcome of your treatment and reach the desired appearance without overfilling or underfilling the area. Between treatment sessions, your skin will begin to produce collagen in and around the treated area which will also help you to achieve a more natural-looking appearance.

The number of sessions required will vary depending on the patient’s condition and goals. Prior to your treatment, we can apply a topical anesthetic to ensure patient comfort during the procedure.

Are there any side effects?

Patients may feel some tenderness, bruising, redness, and swelling around the injection site following treatment. However, these symptoms should subside within a few days.

As with any cosmetic procedure, there can be some risk or side effects that may occur, these include the formation of pockets or lumps and movement of silicone from the injected site. These side effects are uncommon and generally the results of large amounts of silicone being injected in one period.

Results

Though most patients will see an immediate increase in fullness after treatment, even greater fill results will appear a few months after treatment as collagen builds around the injected material.

As mentioned above, once you reach your desired results, no further treatment appointments are required meaning no maintenance touch-ups as the results from Silikon 1000 are permanent!

Due to the permanent nature of Silikon 1000, we often recommend that our patients try short-term fillers first before Silikon 1000.
