Elizabeth Schaut, MPAS, PA-C, was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin where she graduated at the top of her high school class as valedictorian. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She began her career in the highly desirable field of dermatology immediately upon graduating in 2014. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is also a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants by completing their premier training program in the field of dermatology.

Elizabeth moved from Wisconsin to San Diego in 2017 after falling in love with the city while visiting for a dermatology conference. She enjoys providing exceptional, compassionate care to her local community as well as volunteering abroad. She has provided medical care to underprivileged neighborhoods in Belize through the organization Mission H.E.L.P, participated in complimentary skin cancer screenings throughout the community, and has overseen teams of medical students in the medical tent of several IRONMAN competitions. To stay connected to her Wisconsin roots, she is chair of the women’s group of the UW-Madison San Diego chapter.

Elizabeth specializes in all aspects of general dermatology, including skin cancer screenings and management, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, vitiligo, nail disorders, hair loss, warts, actinic keratoses, hidradenitis suppurativa, keloids, and more. She is especially passionate about treating acne.

Elizabeth truly appreciates a team-based approach to medicine. Prior to earning her degree as a physician assistant, she worked for three years as a certified nursing assistant and medical assistant, so she recognizes the importance and value of all members of a care team. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family, fiancé, and shih poo, Nivea.
